Quick Capture
Quick Capture can now save what is already on your clipboard without bringing Octarine forward, giving you a much faster path from copied text or images to a durable note.
- Copy text or an image anywhere, then double-tap

Note appearance
Pro users can now give individual notes their own width, editor font, heading font, font size, line height, and letter spacing from the new appearance control in the note breadcrumb. These choices live in the note’s frontmatter, and can be reset to the workspace defaults at any time.

- Send feedback without leaving Octarine from the Help menu, command bar, About settings, or an error screen.
Improvements
- Adjust Octarine’s interface font size from
Settings → Preferences, independently of the editor font size. - Views filters can now combine conditions with either
ANDorOR. - Suggested follow-up prompts in Ask Octarine can now be collapsed.
- Ask Octarine now handles repetitive tool calls without leaving a blank response, and date-scoped questions include the relevant task context in the fallback search path.
- The command bar now has category filters, clearer note context, and more direct access to recent notes, sidebar sections, and workspace settings; use
TabandShift + Tabto move between filters. - Git Sync can now pull remote changes without committing or pushing, from settings, the command bar, or the app menu.
- Graph options can now show or hide Inbox captures. Graph toggles for showing nodes is now stored in workspace data, and persists on restarts.
- A new properties button in the note breadcrumb makes frontmatter easier to reach.
- The outline rail now appears only when there is enough room in the editor gutter.
- Dialogs, selects, overlays, feedback surfaces, and chat quick actions have more consistent presentation and behavior.
Windows- The custom titlebar now includes Octarine’s app menus alongside native minimize, maximize, and close controls across main and document windows.- Compact navigation is now the default for workspaces that have not chosen a preference.
Performance
Octarine now does less unnecessary work across split panes, tabs, the sidebar, indexing, workspace state, and the editor.
- File trees stay mounted while switching through Inbox tabs, reducing avoidable redraws.
- Tab activation and compound split-pane changes now use fewer redundant state writes.
- Frontmatter and indexing refresh only the records that changed.
- Workspace search streams results instead of waiting for the full set.
- App-wide state subscriptions are narrower, improving responsiveness across navigation, search, graph, calendar, and editor workflows.
Fixes
- Fixed externally changed, renamed, deleted, or synced files leaving stale workspace, Inbox, frontmatter, or index state behind.
- Fixed background file events overwriting unsaved editor changes.
- Fixed URL-scheme saves not appearing promptly in other Octarine windows.
- Fixed moving or duplicating multiple selected list items producing incorrect results.
- Fixed split-pane drag targeting using the wrong pane count.
- Fixed offline content changes being missed by indexing.
- Fixed share controls shifting while notes load.
