Share the note. Keep everything else private.
Turn any note into a clean public page with one link. You decide what readers see, when the page updates, and when it disappears.
Shape the public version before it leaves
Click the globe in the note breadcrumb, review what readers will see, and click Create link. Octarine copies the link to your clipboard.
- A title and a summary
- The public title starts from the note's title property or its filename. Write a summary, or click Generate to draft one with your configured AI model.
- Optional password protection
- Octarine generates a 22-character password and gives you actions to copy it, copy the protected link, or open it.
- Your local file stays put
- Octarine uploads a copy of the note. The Markdown file in your workspace is never changed by sharing.
Publish a page, not an editor dump
Markdown, images, and the context you choose arrive in Octarine's web reader, with your themes and font.
Only show what belongs
The Show properties switch decides whether properties appear on the page. When it is off, the public note endpoint returns an empty properties object.
Images come along
Image wikilinks, even with display options, are found in .attachments and uploaded with the note. SVGs, videos, and other attachments stay local.
Locked when it needs to be
Protect with a password is chosen when the link is created. The protected link contains the password, so send it only to intended readers.
A reader that feels like yours
Choose separate light and dark reader themes and a font in Settings, and turn on Show author to put your display name at the top.
The link changes only when you say so
Keep editing the private note after it is shared. Readers see the last version you published until you click Save changes.

- Saving uploads the current Markdown, properties, and supported images while keeping the same public link.
- Expiration stays fixed
- Updating a shared note does not change or extend its original expiration date.

- Run Sync Shared Note to publish your latest changes without opening the popover.
Links that know when to leave
Every new link expires on its own. Extend it, copy it, or stop sharing it whenever you like, without touching the original note.
Choose how long it lives
Set the default in Settings → Sharing. New links get it; existing links keep the date they were created with.
Stop sharing anytime
The public link stops working and its uploaded images are scheduled for deletion. Your local note and attachments are not changed.

Share, sync, copy, open, or unpublish the current note without reaching for the breadcrumb.
Bring an expired link back
When a link expires, the globe icon shows it. Choose a new duration and click Extend expiry to reactivate the same public link.
Feedback anchored to the passage
Readers select text on the shared page, sign in with Google or GitHub, and leave a comment. Octarine emails you, and you reply, resolve, or hide threads right on the page.

Readable by anyone with the link
Visible threads need no sign-in to read. Only the reader who started a thread and you can reply.
Never written into your file
Comments live on the shared page. After an update, open threads try to reconnect to the same passage.
Turn them off per note
Stop new comments and replies for a note while keeping existing conversations.
One list for every public link
The Shared Dashboard shows every publication on your sharing account, including expired ones and links whose local note is no longer open.

Open, copy, or unpublish any link and see when it was updated and when it expires. Unpublish all disables every listed link without editing your Markdown files.

The Share API, currently a preview, lets a terminal, API client, or local agent publish, update, list, and unpublish notes.
