New updates and improvements to Octarine

0.50.1

AI skills and slash commands revamped, improved sharing options, bug fixes.

AI skills and slash commands

AI customization now has a cleaner home. Skills and slash commands use searchable lists with focused editors, making them easier to find, create, and maintain. You can now add descriptions to Skills.

Sharing

  • Expired public note links are now clearly marked with their expiry date and an Extend expiry action.
  • Added a Settings -> Sharing -> Comment email notifications toggle for new comments and replies on shared notes.

Improvements

  • Note previews sheets now show a collapsible Properties header with the property count. Property container height is reduced and allows scrolling.
  • Date navigation results now appear alongside matching notes in the command bar Notes filter.
  • Standalone HTTP and HTTPS URLs captured directly from the quick capture clipboard are now saved as markdown links.
  • Empty Mermaid blocks now open in code mode so you can start typing immediately.

Fixes

  • Fixed exact note and workspace-relative path searches being omitted from command bar results.
  • Fixed active tab not refreshing reliably after Quick Capture and Inbox appends.
  • Fixed Mermaid previews accepting pasted content.
  • Linux - Fixed launching Octarine a second time not bringing the main window back into focus.
  • Windows - Fixed the app menu title bar not acting as a window drag region.

Changes

  • Removed the separate AI Rules setting; AI customization now lives in Skills and Slash Commands.
